Our main goal is to help students develop their professional networking skills while also building a strong network both inside and outside of the LSE. Through working with MSc Management candidates, alumni, faculty, and industry professionals, our objective is to provide a forum of events, in which all can socialise, discuss, and debate the key issues that are driving the future of global business.
The GMS holds MiM Mixers, bi-weekly networking happy hours with MSc Management Students, Alumni, LSE Faculty, and Department Staff. Additionally, we organise social events around London that help students develop friendships beyond the classroom.
The GMS host guest speaking events and corporate skills sessions where students can meet with company representatives to gain industry-relevant skills, as well as educational trips and workshops outside London to provide skill-building and knowledge sharing opportunities for our members.
GMS members are encouraged and buoyed by the society to partake and engage in philanthropic and charity events and community engagement, in both London and worldwide.
Hi. I am the GMS VP. I am one of the few second years who did not go on exchange and did a finance specialisation instead. Please feel free to come and talk to me if you any questions about that or have any GMS related comments and ideas – I’d love to hear them. I’m usually around the NAB and I’m definitely at the mixers. So feel free to say hello.
Born and raised in the San Francisco Bay Area, I joined the Global Master’s in Management program in 2016. Since then I have developed my interest in emerging markets through internships and projects of various sorts. As GMS President, I strive to bring social, professional, and academic opportunities to management post-grads at the LSE.
I am Karthik Dhawan, Treasurer of the GMS. I love working in teams to organise various events and of course to keep a tab of all the expenses of the society. The journey with the GMS, so far, has been fun and exciting. I love being a part of this amazing team. Looking forward to a fun 2018.
Alumini Engagement Officer
I am Elliot (Ge JIANG), the current alumni officer in GMS. My duty is mainly to coordinate alumni events, follow up new initiatives with alumni and launch alumni programs (such as GMS mentoring scheme).
I graduated with a degree of management (finance and accounting) in Beijing and have interned in several financial institutions such as Royal Bank of Canada. As for my daily life, my favourite sports include swimming, running and badminton.
Being a member in GMS cohort is one of the greatest choices I made in LSE and I will continue to devote all of myself in GMS.
Originally from Toronto, I completed my undergraduate degree in International Relations from the University of St Andrews back in 2017. Now, I am a first year student in the Global Master’s in Management programme here at LSE. Outside of LSE I love skiing, running and travelling. It is my goal to travel and explore one new continent before my graduation from LSE in 2019.
My role as Communications Officer is to make sure that everyone stays informed with what is going on with the GMS—whether it is via email or through Facebook. Make sure to like our Facebook page and to follow us on Instagram @lsesu_thegms
Social Events Officer
Born in Paris, I grew up with 3 cultures: Mexican sounds from my mum, the French heritage from my dad, and the American spirit from my bilingual school. I then studied Modern Languages at Oxford and continued expanding my multiculturalism.
As Social Events Officer of the GMS I put all my energy into making sure the society hosts regular get-togethers in London to provide students with both fun socials and networking opportunities, I assist the treasurer in managing the budget and I am currently in liaison with the Oxford MBA students for joint events between our schools.
In parallel to my studies I developed a strong passion for photography (@rorphoto), which I perfected until working nowadays with major fashion brands.
Originally from Israel, I grew up in various countries in the Middle East, Eastern and Western Europe. I graduated from the University of Exeter in 2017, where I studied Economics with Politics. I am currently a Master’s in Management student here at LSE. Outside my studies, I enjoy traveling, reading, skiing and fitness. My role as a MiM officer entails establishing liaison coordinating events and activities between the society and newly established MiM program.
In alignment with our goals to connect current students, alumni, and industry, the GMS continually looks for new ways to engage the London and global communities. We anticipate a very busy and rewarding year and are always happy to discuss ways to involve other organizations. If your organization is interested in learning more about potential partnering and sponsorship opportunities, please contact either Jason Burchard or Arthur Archaud for any queries or additional information.
